I think I may have had a horrible reaction to some soap I was using about 3 years ago and it caused me to obtain a rash and made me go very dry on the inside. I recently got married to the most wonderful man in the world and I am lucky that he understands that there is something going on with me, but I have absolutely NO SEX DRIVE! I’ve had this rash problem for almost 3 years now and not one doctor could tell me what’s wrong! They would look at me and say everything was fine when clearly it wasn’t! My stuff would be red and swollen, I’d be in pain from the inside out! I got fed up and started treating myself with Destin Cream and then my skin started peeling. Viola! I started to get better! I went to another doctor out of town and she told me to use MetroGel on the inside and it has helped a little. I still expierence some pain on the inside and all that I have been through has caused me to lose my sex drive! The glands on the entrance still hurt and they will not produce any lubrication for me, neither will my walls. I absolutely love my husband and I am still attracted to him, but I don’t have the sexual desire anymore. It hurts when I try and I want to get back to where we were when we first started. I’m 21 and newly married, I’m not supposed to be having these problems yet! I’ve tried estrogen, metrogel, testosterone cream… Nothing works! I don’t know what to do anymore! Please help!

I think your libido will be just fine. It will come back after awhile, that treatment might’ve messed with your hormones and basically disabled your sex drive. It will come back though, if it doesn’t, having sex might bring it back. Check in with your doctor if you’re really worried.

I am sad and anxious by this situation

The pill greatly reduces my sex drive.To the point where I no longer ever masturbate. I don’t really initiate sex (because even if I want to do so, I’m discouraged that my body just doesn’t respond much). I am 21!

Of course my boyfriend has noticed a big change, since I was often initiating sex before, often horny. Now he feels undesired. Not that I don’t have sex with him anymore, I do. But I guess he is disappointed that I am not that “wild thing” I was before.

The thing is, I would love to stop taking the pill, but I am taking it as treatment. Starting about 2 years ago I began having tremendous pain at the start of my period (not necessarily every period, irregularly like every 2, 3 or 4 months). And I mean incapacitating pain, with no warning, that I end up on the floor… it is hard to explain. The pain is unimaginable and I probably look like the exorcist when it is happening to me. Also I get irritable bowel at the same time. It’s just not something I can have while leading a normal life. Also, it is very scary to me, and I have taken the ambulance due to it before.

They prescribed me codeine, which really does not help whatsoever.

Well apparently this is caused by ovarian cysts, and the pill is the only treatment to shrink and or prevent these and so far it has done that!

So I am too scared to stop the pill. Maybe after a couple of years like 2-3 years, I will see if things have changed.

But everytime my boyfriend talks about how we don’t have sex as much as before, I want to cry. I am so sad I am not as satisfying to him as I was before. Of course I don’t neglect him, but I guess he can’t help but be hurt that I am not jumping on him like I did before, or that I can’t orgasm as easily so I don’t all the time anymore (the pill causes that too).

He kind of understands and doesn’t really give me grief about it, but I am just so sad and don’t know what to do. I am also bothered by not having as much desire myself, kind of sucks at this age.

What would you do in my situation.

Question by helpful: Are there any natural or herbal remedies for decreased libido in men that are safe to use?
My husband is 38 years old. He takes Lexapro and Lamictal for a mood disorder and depression. He has decreased libido and low serum testosterone levels. He has taken Androgel in the past but is interested in other treatment options. Are there any herbal supplements or natual remedies that are safe to use? Many medications, including those for blood pressure and/or depression can interrupt blood flow to the penis & cause malfunction at the junction. He needs to eat a healthy diet. Eat Asparagus regularly – it helps increase libido. Taking Zinc tablets daily helps to put zip in the zipper, also.

Have your hubby consult with his doctor to see if there are any alternative medications for his condition that will still do the job it needs to do without the side effects.

My husband has low sex drive and impotence due to medication he’s taking. He says he has no sex drive yet I know he looks at porn. I’m in my early forties, with a high libido and this is killing me.
