Question by Cee_Cee: Psychology I Brain Project?
I am taking a psychology class right now (as a junior in high school). I have to do a brain project, I have to make my own representation of the brain , label all the parts and find everyday objects to use to represent different parts of the brain.
Here are the parts:
Left Hemisphere
Right Hemisphere
Corpus Callosum – A large bundle of nerve fibers that connect the left&right cerebral hemispheres
Motor Strip/cortex – Controls muscle movement
Sensory Strip/cortex – In charge of senses
Parietal Lobe – Associated with senses and movement
Occipital Lobe – Where you get your vision from
Temporal Lobe – Emotional Response, hearing, memory speech
Frontal Lobe – Reasoning, Emotions, Judgement, voluntary movement
Thalamus – Receives sensory info & sends to appropriate part of the brain, (Like a switchboard)
Hypothalamus – Controls body temp, hunger, thirst, libido
Amygdala – Fear, Fight or Flight Mechanism
Hippocampus – Involved in memory processing
Cerebellum – In the back of the head, coordinates muscle movements, like tracking a target
Reticular Formation – Awake, Sleep, Stimulant part of the brain
Medulla – Controls heart rate, breathing, blood pressure
Pons – Connects hind brain, mid brain and fore brain together, Controls facial expressions
What everyday objects could represent these parts of the brain?? Please help I don’t know what to do!
I also need help thinking of how to create my brain
Thanks!!

if you find that your sex drive is putting your life in a state of chaos or danger, then you may suffer from bi-polar disorder. the fact that you mentioned prostitutes is a clue to that behavior being out of control. have you seen a psychiatrist? bipolar disorder is very treatabel with medication and you can have a normal sex drive that wont consume you. (or land you in jail.)

Question by Geyamala: is there no place for words like cruelty, criminal behavior in abnormal psychology?
what the layman perceives as cruelty is branded as aggressive psychopath by psychiatrists. even the gruesome acts of Hitler were attributed to his inferiority complex and low libido.if a person , who is the head of a country, thinks that he is the only great person in the world, invades other countries, thinking that the country had plans to kill him and destroy his country, though , it is not a fact, the psychiatrists simply dub him as a paranoid personality. or mega lo maniac.IF ALL THE EVIL DEEDS , DONE BY PEOPLE ARE DISEASES, THEN THERE ARE NO PEOPLE WHO ARE BAD, EVIL AND CRUEL. my point is ,is there no place for good and bad behaviour and no place for words like proud, cruel, criminal as per abnormal psychology?

I am not a psychologist, but I am a counselor with training in mental health and substance abuse issues. The field tends to avoid assigning judgements, i. e. good, bad, evil, etc. These serve no real purpose in the therapeutic environment, and the practioner cannot be objective. If was label someone as “bad” we probably cannot help them.
